Isotemp Valves
An Isotemp mixing valve on a marine hot water tank mixes cold water with the very hot water from the tank to deliver a safe, consistent, and desired temperature at the tap, while also extending the usable amount of hot water.
The Isotemp hot water tank’s safety valve protects against overpressure by releasing water to prevent the tank from rupturing or exploding if the thermostat fails and overheats the water. Water expands as it heats, and if the thermostat malfunctions, the pressure can become dangerously high; the safety valve opens to discharge this excess pressure, acting as a crucial fail-safe.
