Sleipner Thruster Controls
A Sleipner thruster joystick is a control panel that allows for intuitive and precise maneuvering of a boat, during docking. It integrates with the boat’s thruster system (and potentially the main engines) to enable movement in any direction by simply moving the joystick.
Sleipner touchpanels, used for controlling thrusters, operate by detecting physical touch on the screen, which then sends signals to the thruster system. These panels are designed with safety features like double “ON” buttons to prevent accidental activation. Once activated, the panel allows for precise control of the thruster’s direction and speed, and typically includes features like automatic shut-off after a period of inactivity.
