A disconnecting switch on a Sleipner thruster serves as a safety mechanism to completely isolate the thruster from its power source, during maintenance or in emergency situations.
An automatic main switch acts as a combined main switch and fuse, controlling power to the thruster, and automatically shutting off the system in case of overheating, or if the user forgets to turn it off. It also features a manual override for emergencies.
